Paul & Adaora
Our Love Story

We met during a quiet season of transition — I had just started my intern year of residency in Austin, Texas, and he had recently moved from Europe to San Diego. Though we were in different cities, our connection was instant. Within days, we discovered we were both Nigerian and Igbo — a shared heritage that made everything feel even more natural and meaningful.
We quickly grew close through daily FaceTime calls, learning each other’s stories and building a friendship rooted in trust, faith, and fun. Not long after, he flew to Austin to visit me — thoughtful, kind, and everything I didn’t know I was waiting for.
Over the next year, we made time for one another through visits, weekend flights, and trips together — including one to Mexico that became especially memorable. When I moved to California to begin my dermatology residency, he helped me settle in, and our relationship continued to deepen with love and intention.
He was the first person I ever introduced to my parents — and with their blessing, he proposed in Mexico, where so many of our memories had already been made.
Now, we’re writing the next chapter — together.
